Types of SAA Meetings
There are many types of SAA meetings. Here is a brief explanation of the terms
used to describe them:
Attendance
Who can attend the meeting:

Men - This meeting
is for men only.

Women - This meeting
is for women only.

Mixed - Both men
and women are welcome at this meeting.

Couples - This
meeting is for people who bring their partner.

Open - Anyone
may attend a meeting specifically designated as open.

Closed - Only
sex addicts, or those who think they may be sex addicts, can attend these
meetings.
If not specified,
a meeting is usually mixed and closed. Most meetings are for people of any sexual
preference; however, some meetings are indicated as "Gay" and these
tend to be for homosexuals only.
What goes on at Meetings?
Different meetings have different activities, such as:

Check-In - Participants
talk about recent activities that affect their lives. Here is an opportunity
to disclose one's secrets with fellow addicts who relate to our problems.

Book Study - Topics
from a book, typically Hope and Recovery or the AA Big Book are discussed.

Level 2 &
Level 3 - Such meetings are for people who have committed serious sexual
offenses, often having been imprisoned for their behavior.

Boundary Groups
: A meeting that requires special closure for confidentiality and safety
needs within the group. Usually requires special permission to attend.
